Product teardown
Remove the ADF and control panel if they have been reattached.
Scanner, SCB and convenience stapler (CM3530 MFP only)
Remove the scanner
Remove the SCB assembly
Remove and replace the convenience stapler
CAUTION: The stapler is always energized. To ensure that no power is present in the area you are servicing, unplug the MFP.
Reinstall the scanner, ADF, and the control panel.
Engine—right side
Remove the Tray 1 pick roller
Remove the right side door
Identify the supports and hinges
Identify duplex jam clearance
Identify the duplex drive gear
Identify the Tray 1 assembly
Identify the safety interlocks (5-volt and 24-volt)
Identify the secondary transfer ramp feature
Identify the handle latches that secure the door
Identify the Tray 3 paper path
Identify the Tray 1 separation pad
Identify the Tray 2 paper path jam clearance
Identify the registration assembly
Identify the fuser drive gear
Identify the fuser sensors
Identify the ITB alienation sensor
Identify the high voltage contact for secondary transfer
Identify the pre-exposure LEDs
Remove the RD sensor assembly
Engine—front
Remove the control panel (CP3525 Series Printer) or the front upper right cover (CM3530 MFP)
Remove the right front cover
Identify the remote switch PCA
Identify the two 5-volt interlock switches and the 24-volt switch
Identify the sensors in the upper right
Identify the PGCs
Identify the locks that secure the print cartridge (top and back)
Identify the drum ground connection
Identify the four spring contacts that engage with the ITB
Identify the latches that secure the front door
Identify the cooling ductwork
Identify the TCU full sensor
Identify the TCU motor
Identify the cave light
Remove the front inner cover
Identify the CK laser spring
Remove and replace a PGC actuator
Replace the front inner cover
Engine—remove covers
Remove the left side cover
Remove the right rear corner cover

Identify the low voltage power supply (LVPS)
Identify the DC controller
Identify the engine test switch

Disconnect the cables from the DCC
Remove the DCC assembly
Identify the main drive assembly
High voltage power supply—developer and transfer (HVPS-D and HVPS-T)
Remove the HVPS-D
Identify the cassette pickup motor
Identify the Tray 2 lifter assembly
Remove the HVPS-T
Identify the fuser motor assembly
Identify the main drive assembly and three drum motors
Identify the developer alienation motor
Identify the FFCs that route to laser scanners
Identify the high voltage connection for transfer
Engine—left side and rear
Remove the sheet metal plate
Identify the YM laser scanner
Identify the environmental sensor
Identify the stapler power supply cable
Identify the TCU auger motor gears
Identify the TCU full sensor
Remove the fan unit
Remove the TCU full sensor
Remove the YM laser scanner
CAUTION: When reinstalling the YM laser scanner, be sure the FFC is properly seated. If it is not, it could blow a fuse on the DCC.
Replace the YM laser scanner, TCU full sensor, fan unit, and the left inner cover
Registration assembly
Remove the right side gear cover
Remove the registration assembly
Identify the connections
Note: Do not disconnect the registration assembly.
Replace the registration assembly
Main drive assembly
Remove the high voltage contact assembly
Remove the FFC wiring guide
Identify the support bracket for the DCC
Remove the alienation motor
Remove the main drive assembly
Remove the DCC support

Product reassembly
Replace the main drive assembly
Replace the HVPS-D
Replace the HVPS-T
Verify the FFC and one cable are properly routed above the HVPS-T
Verify another cable is connected at the top of the HVPS-T
Verify screws with washers were used to reattach HVPS-D and HVPS-T
Reattach the DCC assembly
Verify there are only 5 connectors that are not connected
Verify there is no screw at the lower right corner of the DCC assembly
Replace the right side gear cover
Replace the fan shroud and fan
Replace the LVPS/ICB/formatter cage assembly
Verify there are only two connections that are not connected on the DCC
STOP: Perform the engine test.
Complete the reassembly.
