Mike 写了：I'm trying to use the "Enclosure Firmware Management" functionality of the Onboard Administrator 3.7 firmware. To set it up, it's asking for a "Firmware ISO URL". What the ISO contains isn't really explained very well.

I downloaded the "Smart Update Firmware DVD" from the HP website, put it on one of my linux web servers and pointed the OA to that URL.

I continue to get "Invalid ISO URL" when I try to apply the settings. I know the URL is valid. I'm not positive that I have the right ISO.

Can you help?

Configuring the location of the firmware image
The following methods are available to provide Enclosure Firmware Management with the location of the
ISO firmware image:
• An HTTP URL-based ISO image hosted on a web server
• A USB key with ISO image connected to the USB port of the Onboard Administrator
• A physical DVD inserted into the enclosure DVD drive
A USB key converted to bootable media from the SPP ISO image is not supported with Enclosure Firmware
Management. The USB key must contain the ISO image in the root directory. If a physical DVD is used, the
DVD must not contain the ISO image. The DVD must be a bootable disk created from the ISO image.

Hariom 写了：EFM works in offline mode. So you should download the full SPP. Based on info provided it seems we are using online SPP for SLES.

Chris 写了：Correct. The OS specific SPP’s are NOT BOOTABLE, as it clearly states that on the SPP Download Page. You must download and use the full SPP ISO in order to use the EFM feature.

Also, do know that currently the EFM data can become stale if HPSUM or the Online SPP is used to update a blade. HPSUM does not offer the ability to update the EFM data if this action is performed.

Ana 写了：I would open this URL in firefox and make sure you can download the SPP file.

Additionally, I would use the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) instead of just the hostname or better yet the IP of the server that has the SPP to eliminate any issue with name resolution.

Additionally, make sure that you don’t have an invalid DNS name as your primary DNS.
