It is the core I/O board for the DL580/DL980 and contains the integrated network interfaces, embedded Smart Array disk controller, serial, USB, video, keyboard, mouse, etc. connections.

So, the SPI does include the quad network interfaces, but it also contains several other items.

And now there are two SPI options for the DL980.
The difference is the standard / integrated networking.

One has the NC375i (Qlogic/NetXen - which was standard on all earlier DL980 systems), and the other (the new option) has 331i (Broadcom).
