How to Configure Virtual Connect Active Directory
END STEPSNotes:
- The Active Directory you wish to integrate with needs to have AD Certificate Services installed. ILO’s will only integrate with AD over SSL. See the HP ILO2 User Guide for more information (it applies for Virtual Connect as well)
- Users must be moved from the default ‘Users’ Organizational Unit (OU) and into a separate OU.
- Groups that will be used for access must be moved from the default ‘Users’ into a separate OU.
STEPS:
1. Log into the Virtual Connect GUI Interface with Administrative Privileges.
2. Click on ‘Directory Server Settings’
3. Check Enable LDAP Authentication.
a. Enter the Directory Server IP Address (eg: 192.85.236.2)
b. Enter the SSL Port (636)
c. Enter the search context for Active Directory. This must be in LDAP form. (eg: OU=c7000,CN=eds,CN=com)
d. Uncheck ‘Use Windows NT Account Mapping’
e. Click Apply
4. Select the ‘Directory Groups’ tab
5. Select ‘New’ to create a new group. This group must correspond to a group that has been created within Active Directory. In this case c7000Admins.

b. Click ‘Add’
6. Go back to the Directory Server tab:
a. Select Test: (You may have to enter a character in the search context box for the test button to un-gray)
b. Enter a username and Password
