HP Introduces LTO5 for NonStop servers

HP announces the next generation of LTO products for NonStop with the release of six models that support LTO5 tapes:
• M8701A – rack mount, 24 Auto Cartridge Loader (ACL) magazine
• M8702A – table-top, 24 ACL magazine
• M8705A – SCSI attached single cartridge loader
• M8706A – Oracle silo (MRL50)
• M8707A – Oracle silo (SL3000)
• M8708A – Oracle silo (SL8500)
LTO5 almost doubles the cartridge over LTO4 by providing 3TB of storage per cartridge.
LTO5 is fully read/write compatible with LTO4 tapes, thereby preserving the investment in these tapes. LTO5 is read compatible with LTO3 tapes.
